19.6. RDK Deployment on Citrix/Terminal Services

This article relates to discontinued products, but is retained for the benefit of our customers with existing licenses. For current information, please see Support Policy for RDK, BDK, EDK, and RODK.

Applies to:
@RISK Developer's Kit (RDK), release 4.1

Question:
I have written an application using the RDK Developer Edition, and I want to deploy the application to end users on a Citrix server or via Terminal Services or Remote desktop Services.  How do I deploy the RDK files with my application?

Response:
You will need the network license type of the RDK Server Edition, which is a special license type compatible with Citrix.  This license type comes with a specified maximum number of concurrent users, or it can be generated for an unlimited number of users.  Your Palisade sales manager can help you obtain this license.

Please see the instructions in Installing Palisade Developer Kits on Windows 2003 Terminal Services (HowToInstallPalisadeDeveloperKitsOnWin2003TerminalServices.doc, attached). Although the instructions reference Windows 2003, they'll work for other versions of Windows.

If you already have another edition of the RDK on the target machine, uninstall it
