16.11. Decision Tree on a PowerPoint Slide

Applies to: PrecisionTree 1.x, 5.x–7.x

How can I transfer my Decision Tree into PowerPoint for a presentation?

If you have PrecisionTree 6.0 or newer, right-click on a node and select Copy Image to Clipboard. Then paste the image into Word, PowerPoint, etc.

With PrecisionTree 7.0 or newer, if you also have BigPicture, you can click View in BigPicture for an alternative format. See Sharing a Tree with Colleagues Who Don't Have PrecisionTree for more about using BigPicture to display a decision tree.

If you have PrecisionTree 5.7 or an older release, follow these steps:

  1. Open PrecisionTree, and open the file that contains your tree.
  2. Adjust the view in Excel so that you can see all or most of your tree.
  3. Open PowerPoint.
  4. From the menu in PowerPoint, choose Insert » Object.
  5. Click the Create from File option button.
  6. Click the Browse button and browse to the file that contains your PrecisionTree model.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Adjust the magnification of the picture of your tree using the Zoom box in the PowerPoint menu.
  9. Make other PowerPoint adjustments as needed.
