Palisade Server Manager won't Start Service
18.23. Palisade Server Manager won't Start Service
Tambien disponible en Español: Administrador de Licencia de Red de Palisade no inicia el servicio
Applies to: Version 7.x, 8.x
Palisade Server Manager does not run when I click Start.
This issue has not been noticed frequently and we have 3 possible causes at this point:
- The issue starts after upgrading an existing server to a later version. When this happens the way to resolve it is to perform a full uninstallation on your server and reinstall it to attempt to restore the service, or you can also move your license to another server, you can contact Technical Support to create you a testing Network License prior making a full license transfer to make sure there won't be any service disruption during the transition.
- Another documented cause we have identified is Server Manager gets installed in a different drive location. By default, the software is installed in C:\ drive. If the installation is done to another drive this may cause issues starting the service through Server Manager, for this, you will need to perform an uninstall of Palisade software from that location and perform a reinstall in C:/ drive.
- As a third option, you can try changing the service on the server. To do this open Services.msc. Then open Palisade License Service and go to the Log On tab. Please try switching from Local Service to Local System account.
- We have also had customers confirm that disabling TCP/IPv6 has allowed the service to start.
If none of the above describes your issue, please contact Technical Support about it, don't forget to include your serial number and screenshots from the error generated to identify the issue and assist you in a timely manner.
