When I try to launch BigPicture, I get the message

Initialization Error: Localization.ProductLanguage

For some reason, a particular registry key was not set correctly, possibly because of interference from an old beta version. You can easily fix it, as follows:

  1. Close all instances of Excel.
  2. Launch REGEDIT (requires admin rights).
  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palisade\BigPicture\1.0.
  4. In the right-hand panel, in the first column (under Name), look for Language and double-click it.  In the edit box that opens, change the value data from Default to English.
