STANDALONE LICENSE REPAIR PROCEDURE PALISADE CORPORATION Software Releases 7.5.1 and newer These instructions are for use with a broken license in Palisade software 7.5.1 and newer, but only in cases where you tried the Repair button in License Manager and the automatic repair didn't work. The manual repair needs you to look up the Fulfillment ID from your Activation ID, execute a command to generate a request file, and send the request file to Palisade. These instructions are not difficult, but please follow them exactly. (1) In License Manager, highlight your Activation ID with your mouse, and press Ctrl+C to copy it. (2) Click the magnifying glass at the lower left of the License Manager window. An Advanced Options dialog will open. Click View. (3) A Notepad window will open. Press Ctrl+F to bring up the Find dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste your Activation ID. Click Find Next to find a line that contains "Entitlement ID" and your Activation ID. (4) Just above that line, you'll see a line containing "Fulfillment ID" and then a string in the format FID_1f42b49_14edacffcb3__7aea. Highlight just that string, not the words "Fulfillment ID", and press Ctrl+C to copy it. (5) In the next line of this instruction file, highlight xxx and press Ctrl+V to replace it with the Fulfillment ID: -repair xxx -comm flex -gen C:\Windows\Temp\RepairRequest.xml Verify that you have pasted the FID string correctly, and that spaces separate it from "-repair" and "-comm". Then, close the Notepad window that was opened by the View button. (6) Click the Execute button in License Manager's Advanced Options, copy your edited repair command from step (5) with Ctrl+C, and paste it into the Execute window with Ctrl+V. Caution! you need the whole line, including the - at the start. (7) Click the OK button, and wait for the Notepad window to appear. Click File » Save As and save the file to your desktop as PalLicenseCommand2.txt. (8) Close the windows and close Excel. (9) Send an email to support@palisade.com (Palisade Technical Support). * Include your serial number or Activation ID (not Fulfillment ID) in the email, and mention that you need a license repair. * Attach C:\Windows\Temp\RepairRequest.xml to the email. * Also attach PalLicenseCommand2.txt (output of the Execute command) from your desktop to the email. * There's no need to send these instructions in your email.
